Every Dog Has Its Day

A and I got a dog. He is probably the coolest dog in the world. We got him from a rescue shelter on the west side of Chicago, who themselves picked him up from a kill facility the day before he was scheduled to be put down. After an initial visit and a week’s worth of incredibly pestering emails to their adoption coordinator (look at him—we didn’t want someone else to swoop in and adopt him before us), we picked him up. Hey, if his previous owners didn’t want him, we’re more than happy to take him off their hands.

At any rate, meet Charles Tastic O’Hara (may also respond to Charlie, Chuck, Charles Tizzle, Chucky-T et cetera):

There’s more where that came from. Stay tuned.

  3. Katie, no. He is not cute. He is good-looking, or handsome, or attractive. Not cute. He once killed a man for insulting what little masculinity he has left in such a manner. Not really, but that would be awesome.

As far as I know, J, this is pretty far removed from the real thing. (A? Can you confirm this?) She’d know better than I. Indeed, he enjoys licking people and attacking small dogs, which we sometimes “accidentally” “forget” to “discourage.”

  6. I think it could be considered “practice” to some degree. Especially since our life is consumed with him and we have to consult with each other on how the dog would react before we make any decsions. The real thing will be a tad bit different I am sure…

  7. Awe!

That is an adorable little animal!

Is he all Lab or a little mixed?

  8. No idea. We’ve heard suspicions of mixes with Shar-Pei, golden retriever, English lab, etc., although we suspect the latter is the case. His head is FRICKING HUGE! It’s like SPUTNIK!
