Call For Cancer Research Blog Carnival Submissions!
I’m happy to have the chance to host the Cancer Research Blog Carnival (CRBC, if you’re cool) once again, this time the 12th(!) edition on August 1!

You’re encouraged to submit your posts on current cancer research and therapeutics here (or by emailing me or the bayblab folks—the CRBC godfathers, or including a link in the comment section of this post) before Thursday, July 31(ish).
Spread the word, yo. Please?

Hey, Bayblab . . .
Here’s my appeal to set aside the poo-poo ca-ca stuff long enough to stomp some heartless frauds operating right under your elevated graduate student noses.
The toy of choice with these fraudsters would appear to be what is needed to perform “high performance liquid chromatography” or HPLC sometimes prefaced with the words “reverse process’.
The fraudsters ask for a sample of your blood so they can use said instrument to measure how many amino acids and other goodies your serum contains so’s they can beef ‘em up with their overpriced vitamins and minerals to do battle with cancer, Down Syndrome, Autism - you name it.
I would like to challenge this idea but I have about as much scientific know-how as Bill O’Neill, founder and CEO of the Canadian Cancer Research Group (CCRG),Immune System Managment (ISM) and OncomatRx where one of these HPLC machine is located.
But surely some of you graduate students have worked with HPLC and can tell me whether the fraudsters have hit on something here and can expect to be at the next Nobel Prize ceremonies.
